10 questions pg 484 1. Employees join labor unions because they feel that they are not being taken care of by their employer. I have never worked for a company that worked with a labor union. I do not feel that a union would’ve benefited me. I was paid a reasonable wage for my work, and the benefits were standard albeit a little bit too expensive for my pay. If I felt that I was being mistreated by my employer than I would think that a union could assist me. 2. Managers at most companies do not want unions to represent employees because they can halt progress and cost a company more money. However unions can provide benefits to employers such as easier training and more productivity. 3. Union membership has drastically decreased over the years. There are fewer unionized companies and fewer employees signing up with the union. Union membership in other countries is much higher primarily in Europe. The patterns in union membership can affect an international company negatively as they will have to have specific plans based on country. 4.
