Week Two DQ 1 Post a 150- to 300-word response to the following discussion question by clicking on Reply: Refer to Figure 9.7 on p. 271 (Ch. 9) of the textbook. What information is shown in the My Pyramid Plan? What guidelines from the Pyramid Plan may be used to improve personal nutrition? Just by glancing at the my pyramid plan picture with all the different colors, I can immediately see that it is telling us to diversify our food intake in order to get all the nutrients the body needs, and to exercise to achieve a healthy balanced life style. Further analysis we can clearly see how we should split the amount of different foods; more grain, vegetables, fruits, and dairy product foods, and less oil, and protein foods.

Unformatted text preview: We really have to be conscience and stay on top of what and how much we eat on a daily basis to accumulate our daily calorie intake. It really can be as easy as counting numbers to achieve our daily food energy/calories, but it does take a tremendous amount of self-control and discipline to stick to the recommended size servings of the different kind of foods including fruits, vegetables, grains, milk, oils, and meat. The second part of our balanced life style is exercising, it is as equally important, we convert the food that we eat into energy, it is only logical that we have to do something we that energy in order to balance the two actions of eating and exercising....
