Week Six DQ 1 According to p. 117 if the textbook, what are the four characteristics that define intimate relationships? Why does building relationships involve a degree of risk? The four characteristics that define intimate relationships are: Behavioral interdependence, this the daily mutual impact between people while they are conducting their business and their daily life activities. This is where one person can have an impact on others while reacting to their behavior. Need fulfillment, this is psychological needs that is fulfilled through relationships with others. This is achieved by being intimate with someone that we share our feeling freely, social integration with someone whom we can share worries and concerns, nurturance where we can take care of and who will take care of us, assistance in giving help to others when needed, and affirmation where we can receive re-assurance about our selves.
