ITAP 16680, Computer Keyboarding Course Syllabus Spring 2010 Course Information: ITAP 16680 COMPUTER KEYBOARDING CRN# :16546 Section # : 290 Credit Hours : 1 credit Web-Based Section Meets 1/19/2010 Thru 3/10/2010 Instructor Information: Carolyn Carvalho, Instructor Kent State University Ashtabula Campus, A222 (440) 964-4222 Class Meeting Information: Web-based course. Class Web Site: Log in with your FlashLine username and password. Course Description: A basic keyboarding course using computers. Designed for students who have no previous keyboarding instruction or a speed of less than 30 words per minute. To pass the course and obtain a C, students must keyboard at a speed of 30 words per minute or more for 3 minutes with no more than 3 errors. The targeted completion date for all work is March 10. Course Goals: To teach users to use the computer keyboard correctly, positioning fingers on the assigned keys. To build speed in keyboarding so that users can input characters and numbers at a minimum of 30 words a minute within an accuracy range of no more than 3 errors. Required: College Keyboarding Lessons 1-20 Internet Ready/Home Version Software CD Kit 10th Edition by McGraw-Hill/Irwin. Authors: Ober, Johnson, and Zimmerly. ISBN number 0-07-313849-5. This kit contains the software and the textbook.
