MGT 455 – Organizational Negotiations University of Phoenix Katie Williams Week 1 – Assignments Discussion Question #1: What are the elements of negotiation? What are some of the problems you have experienced when negotiating? How would you address these problems? Well from what I understand there are seven elements of negotiation. These elements are as follows: 1. Interests 2. Alternatives 3. Relationships 4. Options 5. Legitimacy 6. Communication 7. Commitment From what I gather in order for someone to create a negotiation plan they must keep all these seven elements in mind. Well personally, over time I have been in many situations when negotiating where problems have come up. For example, a few days ago, I got my frontier internet bill for 120.00 and mind you (I was supposed to be getting my six months free of internet and only paying 30.00 plus taxes for my other services). So I called the customer service department and told them what my issue was, explaining the details of my sign on agreement with them, and this lady told me all
