MGT/498 – Strategic Management University of Phoenix Professor:  TUGTEKIN GOKAYDIN Katie Williams 12/11/2011 Week 2 – Assignments Discussion Question #7: What are the types of organizational structures and how do they differ from each other? From what I understand there are basically three different organizational structures.  These three are known as, simple structure, functional structure, and divisional structure. I think  the easiest way to clarify what the differences is between anything is first to define what it is, and  then move on to showing or defining what the differences is.  “simple structure has  no functional or product categories and is appropriate for a small, entrepreneur-dominated  company with one or two product lines that operates in a reasonably small, easy identifiable  market niche.”
