MGT/498 – Strategic Management University of Phoenix Professor:  TUGTEKIN GOKAYDIN Katie Williams 12/16/2011 Week 3 – Assignments Discussion Question #1 : "Directional Strategies" When looking at  directional   streategies what are: - Growth strategies - Stability strategies - Retrenchment strategies Well from what I understand from our textbook readings for this week, all three of these  terms are basic rietations for directional strategy. Speaking in terms of growth strategy, stability  strategy, and retrenchment strategy. I think in order for us to understand this concept as a whole  we should take a look at the definition of each of these terms.  According to (Wheelen, & Hunger, 2010, p. 107), "A corporation's directional strategy is  composed of these general orientations (sometimes called grand strategies): Growth stratgies      expand the company's activities.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
