Kimbra Ussery ENGL 1101 12/5/2011 Epictetus, a wise Greek philosopher, once said, "If thy brother wrongs thee, remember not so much his wrong-doing, but more than ever that he is thy brother." My little brother, Kaelen, and I had never been the best of friends. I had been living the good life as an only child for almost six years when he was born. I asked for a puppy, and the next thing I know, my parents brought him home. Needless to say, I did not ask for pets anymore. At first he was a cute baby so it was not really that big of a deal then. However, as he grew older, it did not take me long to figure out that we were as opposite as could be. He was the loud to my quiet, the dumb to my genius, and the gross to my delicate. He was a brat while I was the perfect child. And no matter what, he always found a way to ruin my perfect plans. February 19, 2005 - I had been looking forward to this day for a long time. My grandmother had a doctor’s appointment in Macon, GA – nothing serious, just a check-up. My mother took her so I decided I would go along. Of course, Kaelen (who was six years old at the time) had to try to find a way to aggravate me so he decided he wanted to go too. However, I was not going to let him ruin my perfect day. Why had I been looking forward to this day? It meant I would get to eat at my favorite restaurant, New China Buffet. When you are eleven years old and you get to go to your favorite restaurant, it is a pretty big deal. As soon as I walked in, the aroma of all the delicious foods made my mouth water. I quickly got a plate and filled it up with all my favorite foods. I could not wait to dig in! When I reached the table, before I even sat down, I leaned down to put the plate on the table beside Kaelen. At this exact moment, he stuck his hand
