Kimbra Ussery ENGL 1102 2/2/2012 Hey TCHS Science Clubbers, Remember me? My name is Kimbra Ussery, and I graduated from Telfair County High School with the class of 2011. Thanks to our small school, I know and remember each of you. If you did not know, upon graduation, I decided to attend Georgia Southern University and pursue a degree in the Chemistry field. I am now taking classes under the Pre-Pharmacy program! Being that my major falls under the Allen E. Paulson College of Science and Technology here at GSU, I definitely wanted to write back to you guys to tell you all about what I am doing here. Before I get too ahead of myself though, first off, you’re probably wondering what Pre- Pharmacy really is. Before you can actually get in to a Pharmacy school, there are certain courses you are required to take. Most of them are your fairly basic sciences, but consisting of your core classes and your Principles of Chemistry / Biology. I am sure each of you is well equipped to

Unformatted text preview: handle these courses. Unfortunately, you cannot complete your Pharmacy degree here at Georgia Southern. Upon completing your Pre-Pharmacy classes, you will take what is called the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admission Test) and then transfer to an actual Pharmacy school. The state of Georgia currently only has three schools of Pharmacy – The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, Mercer Southern School of Pharmacy, and South University School of Pharmacy. My plans are to attend the University of Georgia to complete my degree, but as long as you start here at GSU, the sky is the limit! Whether you are interested in Pharmacy or some other type of degree, Georgia Southern is definitely the place to get it at!
