Women of Islam The women of the Islamic religion are different than other people in their own ways. They are not allowed to show too much skin and cover most of their body. According to the Qur’an, all men and women were on the same level in life. They also had the same rights as the men of Islam. Muslim women had more rights than most people. They could get an education and had the same marriage rights as their husbands. Women controlled what they earned from their jobs, make their own contracts, and be a witness in a court jury. These rights have been considered laws all the way until now.

Unformatted text preview: The women had to cover themselves up in clothes, covering at least half their body. This was to keep their sense of modesty and it was disrespectful to Allah. This is all based on the Qur’an verse XXIV: 31 which says, “And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty…that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty.” Although nowadays, most Muslim women have changed their clothing to Western style, but some still follow their religion about their dress....
