Unformatted text preview: Ch-28 Faraday’s Law:(Additional Questions)
1-) The magnetic field through a single loop of wire, 12 cm in radius and of 8,5 Ω resistance,
changes with time as shown in figure. Calculate the emf in the loop as a function of time.
Consider the time intervals
a) t = 0 to t = 2 s
b) t = 2 s to t = 4 s
c) t = 4 s to t = 6 s.
The (uniform) magnetic field is perpendicular to the plane of the loop. Solution: 2-) An electric generator consists of 100 turns of wire formed into a rectangular loop 50 cm
by 30 cm, placed entirely in a uniform magnetic field with magnitude B = 3.50 T. What is the
maximum value of the emf produced when the loop is spun at 1000 rev/min about an axis perpendicular to B ?
Solution: 3-) a) What emf is induced in the sliding-wire circuit shown in the figure, given that
B = 430 mT, l = 150 mm, and v = 2,6 m/s ? b) Assume that the sliding wire and the rails of
the U have negligible resistance and that the 750 Ω resistance of the circuit is concentrated at
the left in the figure. What current exists in the circuit? c) Determine the magnitude and
direction of the magnetic force acting on the sliding wire. Solution: ...
