With the exception of the Present Presumptive Progressive, the forms of the Presumptive are identical with those of the Future, the Subjunctive, and the Conditional-Optative. This fact has made some question the existence of a Presumptive Mood, it being argued that these homonymous forms are merely extended uses of the Future, the Subjunctive, and, respectively, the Conditional-Optative. However, the fact that the Present Presumptive Progressive warrants exclusively presumptive readings suggests instead that there is indeed a legitimate Presumptive Mood .
