Ferris Company Strategy I. Team Development 1. Team Date At the beginning of the semester our team went out to dinner at Margaritas in downtown Orono to get to know each other better. We decided that Wednesday would be the best day to go because it is two for one entry night every week. This meeting was a good starting point for the team to get to know each other. All team members attended and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. It was nice to get to know everyone outside of the classroom. As always people act differently outside the classroom then they would inside of it. After our team date everyone felt more comfortable working with each other. Hopefully knowing all of our team members will continue to help us be successful throughout the length of the project. 2. Team Norms Based on our test scores, we have a diverse but emotionally intelligent group of people. In general, our emotional intelligence scores were fairly high, which certainly helps our ability to get along and understand each others feelings. We have a diverse set of conflict styles, which may prove to be beneficial. When conflicts arise it will probably be a good thing that we’ll have a few different ways of dealing with them. Having a bunch of people who compromise or a bunch of people who force would likely have negative affects. 1. Every team member will make an effort to contribute every meeting. 2. Everyone’s suggestions will be respected and considered. 3. Team members will give their full attention when someone is speaking. 4.
