Marsha Warren Marsha Warren : Case Study Marsha Warren is a teacher of a third grade class. She has twenty – two students in her class. She is having difficulty with her student’s behavior and attitudes toward learning. She has three that are bright students that need extra encouragement. She has four that speaks little or no English. Her students seem to be immature for their age and grade level. She has her lower level reading group that is causing disruptions in the classroom. She has eight students that have special circumstances that are adding to behavior and learning difficulties. Jose’ has a learning disability that affects his organizational skills. He is consistently causing trouble in the classroom. Angela is repeating the third grade and has built up angry because of this. She is a below average achiever. Tyrone works hard but is a below average learner. Betty Ann is the baby of her family and has no independence because of it. She is emotionally insecure and takes no responsibility for her actions. Sarah wants to do her work but she is easily distracted and feels she must protect Betty Ann. Katie is a brighter student who is hyperactive, easily distracted and argumentive. Rhea is average student that her language deficit is causing her to fall behind. She also has a mother that is an alcoholic and has to take care of the house and family when she is not at school. With that type of responsibility she has no time for homework. Maria is an average student that speaks Spanish. She is immature but is easy going. There are several things adding to the frustration of the teacher and students in

Marsha Warren this classroom. The students are failing because of the lack of meeting each of there needs. There are students that should be on IEP which is an Individual Education plan. These students should have goals that are suited to there own learning abilities. All of the English language learners
