Recess During recess you notice the same group of girls who always spend recess time talking to each other while sitting on the play ground equipment. What, if anything do you do to encourage the girls to be more physically active? How would you help to facilitate their activity on the playground? I think I would bring in a bunch of jump ropes for the girls and teach them some fun songs to encourage them to be more active. They would be having fun as well as being active. Just goes to show you the joys of Jump-rope know no bounds of age, size or gender. It's fun, plain and simple, and has caught the attention of kids of all ages through the years. It is in fact considered by some an art form and by others a sport. I know our local schools have competitions for jump roping. Here is one song to get them started. Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground, Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, show your shoe, Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, please skiddooo! -
