Write a teaching mission using the following guidelines: Teachers to be many different things. There is no one thing that defines a teacher just like there is no one way to learn everything. A teacher must have Knowledge of Subject matter, the ability to adapt to individual needs, Motivation, classroom management, and partnerships. Knowledge of the subject matter means the ability to understand the concepts of what is being taught. The ability to create a learning experience for her students that is meaningful from this subject matter. (Slavin, 2006) A teacher must have the ability to adapt to each individual need of a student. No two people are the same so of course in a classroom no one way will teach everyone. Some students will learn by hearing, Some my learn by seeing and others by reading but there might be some that still don’t get the material that when a teacher really becomes a teacher because she has to brake down the information in a way that will relate to this student to help them understand the material. A teacher needs to be motivated. To be able to motivate your students you must first have the drive yourself. “According to our text this is best accomplished by providing real-world learning opportunities of optimal difficulty and novelty for each student. Students are motivated when they can make choices in line with their personal interests. Effective teachers give them the opportunity to think creatively and deeply about projects. Santrock, J.W. (2009). Educational Psychology (4th ed.). Boston: McGraw-Hill Higher Education.” A teacher needs to know how to manage her classroom. This is a big job for anyone. You must be able to handle misbehaviors, maintaining learning as a whole group, establish rules, procedures, and time schedules and still maintain a learning environment that has the ability to meet the individual needs of the students. (Santrock,2009) A good teacher uses her resources. It is important for teachers to maintain partnerships with parent, other teachers and community. These relationships can really help the classroom as whole as well as individual students. This helps to support the learning and well being of each student. References : Salvin,R.E. (2006) Educational Psychology Theory and Practice ( 8 th Ed.). Boston: Pearson Santrock, J.W. (2009). Educational Psychology (4th ed.). Boston: McGraw-Hill Higher Education. ( Discussion 2 Week 1) Post your topic for your research project and list two resources found from ProQuest that you will be using for your project. Motivating students to learn. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
