MGMT 29000-002 Programming for Business Applications Fall 2011 Lab 4 Lab Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to help you master the concepts of flow control and reinforce previous skills in programming. Lab Instructions: Description: Implement the following user story in Alice: A seller is trying to sell an antique to two potential buyers (Buyer A and B) through a simple auction (Please check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auction for background information about auctions). One thing to know about simple auctions is that each potential buyer has a reservation price, which is the highest price that he/she is willing to pay for an item. Buyer A likely has a different reservation price than Buyer B and neither Buyer A nor Buyer B know the other’s reservation price. The seller does not know the reservation price of either Buyer A or Buyer B; if the seller knew this information he would simply sell the item to the buyer with the highest reservation price! The sequence of events in your story should be like this: 1) The seller announces the starting price and the auction begins; 2) Buyer A bids first; 3) The two buyers then take turns bidding. The current bidder must check to see if the current price is less than his/her reservation price. If the current price is less than their reservation price, the current bidder can make his/her bid (hint: check to see that the bidder does not bid more than his/her reservation price) 4) The auction ends
