Common Problems with permit applications 1) Proper back-up documentation of all: A. Topographic survey data B. Soils data C. Design assumptions Most storm water permit applications are held up (or denied) due to the lack of supporting documentation that is needed to justify the design assumptions.

Common Problems with permit applications 2) Insufficient and / or inaccurate Seasonal High Ground Water Table (SHGWT) data. REGULATION OF STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS Section 26.4.2 3) Insufficient and / or inaccurate soils data (i.e. vertical permeability (Kv) and horizontal permeability (Kh) rates at the proper depth, and location of the confining unit (clay layer / hardpan). REGULATION OF STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS Sections 26.4.3-26.4.4 4) Unrealistic expectations for the artificial lowering of the Seasonal High Ground Water Table (SHGWT). One possible case would be design flaws based upon assumed soil properties of imported fill for projects that are elevated above existing grade (i.e. optimistic estimates of vertical and horizontal permeability rates (Kv and Kh) and/or neglecting clay and organic content).
