Editing Records and Using Forms – Lesson 16 2 Objectives Edit records in Datasheet view. Add and delete records in Datasheet view. Cut, copy, and paste data in Datasheet view. Change the datasheet layout. Hide columns in a table. Create a form. Enter and edit data in a form.

Editing Records and Using Forms – Lesson 16 3 Edit Records in Datasheet View Datasheet view includes a navigation bar you  can use to find a record you want to edit. The navigation bar lets you Go to the first record in the table. Go to the previous record. Go to a specific record number. Go to the next record in the table. Go to the last record in the table. Create a new record. When you find the record you want, click in any field to  select it and modify the data as desired. If you make a mistake in editing a field, click the  Undo  button  to reverse the change, but you must click  Undo  before you  edit another field in the table.

Editing Records and Using Forms – Lesson 16 4 Datasheet View Navigation Bar This figure shows the navigation bar visible in Datasheet view which  displays the current location in the table, as well as the total number  of records in the table. Go to first record   Go to previous record Go to next record   Go to last record. New Record Total records in table This  box  shows  the  current  record  number.  You  can  also  enter  a  record  number  here  and  press  Enter  to  go  to  that record.

Editing Records and Using Forms – Lesson 16 5 Add and Delete Records in a Table To delete a record from a table: Select the record by clicking the record  selector at the left edge of the row. Press the  Delete  key and then click  Yes  in  the delete confirmation box. To add a record to the table: Click the  New Record  button on the  navigation bar. Click in the fields and enter the data for the  new record.
