Appendix B HUM/111 Version 4 1 Axia College Material Appendix B Final Exam Access the Electronic Reserve Readings link in the Week Nine section of your student Web site. Select one of the following topics and read both articles that present opposing sides of the argument surrounding that topic. o Animal experimentation o Outsourcing o Media violence Answer the following questions in paragraphs of approximately 100 words demonstrating your critical and creative thinking skills. 1. Identify if the topic you chose—as presented by both articles—is a problem or an issue, and explain what makes it a problem or an issue. If you believe the articles present both problems and issues, identify and explain what the problems are and what the issues are. For this assignment we were asked to pick a topic and read the articles pertaining to that topic. I picked to read the Animal experimentations due to with this topic I feel mutual. As I read these articles I feel that these articles present an issue more than a problem. Both articles give some very good points about why you should and should not use animals for experimental needs. The big issue is people do not like research done on animals and pets but others do not find it right to use a human to research on either. If the research done on an animal is going to find ways to cure disease or even cure and prevent a disease then I do not feel there should be an issue with an animal being used. So in the long run I find both of these articles to present an issue more then a problem at this point. 2. Were the problems or issues expressed effectively? Describe how the problems or issues were or were not best expressed. I feel by reading the two articles that we were given to us both expressed the issues effectively. With the issues provided I could see right down the middle of the two sides of the issue at hand witch is animal experimentation. The first article given was a clear concept of why animals are needed to experiment on to help with many different
