How was his music influenced by his fiery temperament, independent spirit and his own physical challenges? He broke all the rules that had been worked out and repeated with the classical composers. He decided to not just put human emotion into music but he put his own emotion and feelings and thoughts into his music which took music to a whole new level of personal meaning to people. His music is very personal and the emotions communicated through it is indicative of his current feelings. How does Beethoven’s expression of emotion differ from that of previous composers? It did not just reflect general humanistic feelings but it represented the things that Beethoven himself was thinking and feeling. He relayed a lot of his own personal history in the compositions that he wrote. Music previous to this time was emotional but Beethoven's was his emotions. With what values has Beethoven’s 9th symphony become connected? Why? Unity, Brotherhood.
