Retained earnings that a company accumulates over time through its operations are one of the main sources of shareholders equity ( http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stockholdersequity.asp#axzz1nplsl1cW ). As a shareholder I would be very pleased to know that ESC’s goal is just what was expected when I decided to invest and would be looking forward to learning which decisions would generate an increased return on investment. I believe that we all have a responsibility with helping others in our society that should be proportional to our capacity. If the financial condition of the company provides, the donation of 1.5 million to the symphony orchestra could be seen as part of our duty as members of the community. It also serves as an investment in public relations that happens to come with a well received tax write off. I would suggest spreading the donation among other

"American investment in China is still growing; it’s one of their most profitable markets, if not their most profitable market. No one is pulling back." I would be pleased to know that we are now ready and able to venture into the Chinese market and continue to develop. I would consider this a long term investment and another step in the right direction.
