H e a l t h y E a t i n g P l a n | 2 Healthy Eating Plan Comparison Maintaining a healthy diet is vital to an individual’s health and optimal body function. Every individual regardless of age has specific dietary needs that must be met in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Because an individual’s needs vary from childhood, adolescence to adulthood and beyond, each individual requires the proper balance of nutrients from vitamins and minerals to remain healthy. An individual’s nutritional needs changes accordingly throughout the lifespan; therefore, his or her food choices influence his or her overall health and potential longevity. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not only a necessity for a longer life, but it will also guarantee a consistent energy flow, hence allowing the individual to feel better. Therefore, maintaining a nutritious diet can be the key to a healthier and more successful life. Due to the busy lifestyles of most individuals, they tend to eat very poorly. Most individuals do not balance their diets; therefore they do not think twice before grabbing a burger or pizza. They eat too many fatty foods, which can cause them to become overweight and many times even sick. Understanding the basic principles of diet and nutrition is important but following through with a healthy diet is even more important. After documenting all my eating habits for a second time and comparing them to the first week of class, there is no real significant difference in my nutritional habits. Just as in
