David. Prentice Hall (custom e-book ISBN 0130660906). Course Description: An integrative course focused on strategic management and business policy, utilizing the case method of instruction. A capstone course involving the analysis of business situations through the application of theory and concepts studied in the undergraduate degree program. Student Learner Outcomes (revised per AACSB standards, fall 2009) : Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of the strategic management process. 2. Demonstrate an ability to apply problem solving and analysis skills to assess/describe relevant business environment conditions: political/legal, demographic, economic and competitors (both domestic and global). 3. Demonstrate an ability to apply problem solving and analysis skills to assess/describe key internal business functions: management (including culture & mission), marketing, operation/production, R&D, IT and finance/accounting. 4. Demonstrate an ability to integrate in a critical and reflective manner management theory/concepts learned in the undergraduate program to solve complex and challenging managerial problems. 5. Demonstrate an awareness of the manner in which an organization can address the issues of social responsibility. 6. Demonstrate an ability to access on-line databases. 1
