Rabbinic Concepts: Torah and Revelation 17:55 Torah and Revelation: Torah:  Has a specific way of writing Some letters are small and some letters are large Crowns- some letters have some don’t Dots- some have letters and some don’t Lacks vowels- no vowels in the entire Torah. Not all Torah’s are the same. Not every Jewish community has the same way of writing the Torah. B. Menahot 29A RS, pp. 216-217 What do we learn from this text? God is writing the Torah (physically writing the Torah) Attaching crowns to certain letters and not others. Moses sees God writing the Torah. This is not in the Hebrew Bible it is in the oral Torah. Akiba (rabbi) will live in the future and he will know more about this than Moses will. He  will bring up all the laws that can be derived from the Torah. Don’t question God
