Daniel Eaker 6/8/05 Religions Essay There are a variety of belief systems practiced throughout the world today. Many of these beliefs have developed massive followings, and as a result, have had a considerable amount of influence on culture in the areas where they are practiced. These belief systems also believe in different ideas and strongly agree with them. One belief system that is practiced around the world is Hinduism. Hinduism was founded by the Aryans in India. Two basic teachings of Hinduism are the caste systems and Dharma and Karma. The caste system is an important aspect of the Hindu faith. It is important because it provides social structure and keeps order among the people. Some aspects of the caste system are that the highest castes are the priests and the lowest castes are the untouchables. Another aspect is that once a person is born into a specific caste, there is no social mobility. This means that they cannot move from one caste to another and must marry within that caste until they are reincarnated. Once they are reincarnated,
