Data – a simple description of things, events, activities, and transactions that are recorded classified and stored but not organized to convey meaning. Example: The ages of everyone in a business. Information – data that has been organized to convey meaning. Example: The job associated with each person’s age. Knowledge – data and information that have been organized to convey understanding, experience, and expertise as they apply to a current business problem. Example: The older someone is the better they can handle telephone related jobs while the younger workers understand computers better. 2.
