Thinking and Doing Ethics26 July 2020Written Case Analysis Case Study 13"A woman learns that her son-in-law fathered an illegitimate child several years before hemet her daughter. (He and his wife have been happily married for ten years. They are childless.) She is sure her daughter is not aware of this and has reason to doubt that she would ever find out about it. The woman feels obliged to tell her, however, and does so."In this case, several things are morally wrong with the son-in-law having an illegitimate child and not telling his wife when they met. However, the biggest question is it the women's place to say to the daughter her husband has a child with his ex? What is she gaining from having the feeling "one ought, to tell the truth"? I do not feel she treated the son-in-law and daughter with the best principles of respect.I believe the son-in-law did not handle the responsibilities as a parent and an individual very well.
