Consulting Process Course NBA 578 Syllabus Fall 2007 Nate Peck Course Objectives Gain a working knowledge of the consulting process Understand how to approach and solve a business problem Enhance your ability to solve cases and defend your positions Apply the consulting process to a case study Present proposals, interim presentations and final presentations for the case study Learn from and network with leading consultants Course Structure Combination of lectures (lectures will be posted on Blackboard), team presentations and guest speakers Required reading Project team work to develop and present proposals, interviews, and interim and final presentations Grading Team presentations – 2 each at 15% of the grade (proposal and interim report) - Understanding of the problem - Approach to solving the problem and workplan - Approach to change management, client management and knowledge transfer - Quality and uniqueness of insights and analysis - Communication of the information orally and in written form - Ability to defend the work - Each team member must present once during these two presentations Other assignments (e.g., Pyramid diagram, interview guides and interview summaries) – 10% Final presentation – 30% - Understanding of the problem - Success in communicating and selling the recommendations - Change management - Findings supporting recommendations - Implementation plans and success metrics
