MILESTONE TWO 3 IntroductionIn 2003, A&D decided to expand into online sales in order to remain competitive in the market. The company lacked an online presence and struggled to reach global consumers.A&D decided that in order to reach these consumers that they needed an online presence. The highest goal that came of this decision is that the online store had to be functional and ready for the public in time for holiday buying.Purpose:Background To introduce an online store in time for the major holiday buying season to reach global customers. This is also to increase sales, revenue, and become a stronger competitor in the industry. This plan includes Project Manager-Chris Johnson, CEO-Ted Walter, CIO-Matt Webb, ect as major stakeholders.Background Information:A&D is a computer and computer accessory manufacturer that also offers technical services to both individuals and businesses. Located in Lincoln, Nebraska and established as a business in 1988. Strong Customer service has been a major staple of the company and has earned high revenues for the company. In 1999 a resource planning system was implemented to reduce consumer wait time. In 2001 the company invested in improvements in supply chain, payment, customer relations, and order management. All of these improvements have worked towards higher revenues and increase consumer satisfaction. In 2003 the company realized that, in order to stay competitive, they needed to expand into Ecommerce to reach global consumers easier.

An already built system would be most time effective but would not have all of the content that they wanted for their business. A custom build program allowed the business to have exactly what was desired and essential. This included an order system, amendmentfunctions, as well as additional addons. It was decided to built a custom system in order tohave everything that was required, although this was a risk with the limited time given. A&D is trying to increase global consumers through an ecommerce shop, thereby also increasing revenue. Responsibilities for this project are shared throughout the stakeholdersand defined bellow..
