Christian and Missionary Alliance a.i.3.b. Pentecostal revivals; Kathryn Kuhlman and Oral Roberts made this the largest new Christian movement of the 20 th century a.ii. Healthy Living a.ii.1. Prompted by Ellen G. White (Seventh-Day Adventist) a.ii.2. Idea that body is a temple; Had special diets a.ii.2.a. Avoided meat and shellfish a.ii.2.b. Encouraged that vegetables be steamed with little seasoning a.ii.2.c. Invented tasty substitutes for such goods a.ii.3. Additional health reforms a.ii.3.a. Hard beds, regular exercise, sunshine, fresh air, no alcohol and tobacco, no undue sex, and no use of chemical drugs a.ii.4. Later established colleges and universities (Loma Linda) a.iii.
