Who Do You Say Jesus Is?Name: Course: CWV-101Date: Instructor: 1.a.The teaching in Matthew 5:21-24 is much more than just about anger. It teaches that what is in one's heart is just as important as one's actions, even if someone's anger doesnot generate murder; if the anger is in the heart and unimpeded, it's the spiritual equivalent of murder[CITATION Int \l 1033 ]. Jesus wanted all those who would listen to know that God did not merely want us to obey the rules, but to value what God values[CITATION Int \l 1033 ]. He explains that we must reconcile with those who anger us before we come before God, for He will know what is in our hearts.b.I think the atheist worldview would agree with this lesson in the majority. From what I have read, atheists also believe in treating everyone with respect and instead work issues out then resort to violence. I feel they would agree that holding onto resentments, letting anger fester, or insulting others is not mentally healthy. Internalizing these feelings will only make things worse. Letting the anger go and working issues out is best for both involved.
