Eric Jones, author of the article ‘"All Lies Matter!": Revealing Misleading Information in Media Stories About Police Brutality,” states that the Black Lives Matter movement was soon met by supporters of police officers, they chanted “All Lives Matter” and “Blue Lives Matter.” The question asked is, how should educators teach their students to get through the emotional trauma that has occurred? A lesson taught in a class titled “race, gender, and class in media” was teaching students to examine how media stories are distorted. A hospital nurse called to report the incident, her call was ignored. The author states that these repeat offenders are rarely disciplined and that is what the main point of this article was. In conclusion, the officers who did this to Abner Louima have been indicted and the nurse who tried to help the man was attacked by another nurse and faced hostility from her coworkers. This shows the racism in America. Lyle, Perry, and Ashraf M. Esmail. "Sworn to Protect: Police Brutality- a Dilemma for America’s Police." Race, Gender & Class , vol. 23, no. 3, 2016, pp. 155-185 .
