Daniel Crowley Introduction to Sociology Fourth Writing Assignment October 9, 2007 According to C. Wright Mills, the power elite states that small networks of individuals hold concentrated power in modern societies. A very large argument in sociology is whether the power elite is made up of government officials, or of business leaders who run very large corporations. It is hard to say that one group is entirely powerful but arguments are made that the groups are more powerful than the other set.
