Bilbo has become the leader, a father figure, and you can see the change in his tone (strong). Bilbo never loses his sense of everything, he is always lucky and he puts others before him like a leader. Much like Tolkein himself in the war being a leading officer. As the story goes by, the narrator shows that we cannot laugh at Bilbo anymore. The song on page 225 is a description of their journey so far and as we approach the end of the song it is aimed at the dwarves. At the beginning of chapter 10, it shows that Bilbo’s luck has guided him. The protagonist has to break the taboo. Things must change for the protagonist; we must see a dynamic protagonist. Bilbo’s tone turns condescending and stuff much like Gandalf’s tone. Thorin thanks Bilbo for everything. Venus was made from when people fled their roman town to islands so they could be safe from war. The purpose of Venus was trading. Strong link between Venus and London.
