Type each of your SMART goals in the tables provided below to build your development plan: SMART Goal 1: Communication and Relationship Building S: specific I will identify my role of becoming a more effective charge nurse. I will have better improved communication and decreased conflicts amongst the RN’s and Cna’s. I will practice using daily task/goal sheets for CNA’s. This will eliminate misunderstanding for the cnas to what is expected of them for the day. M: measurable I will measure my success by obtaining feedback from the other Nurses to monitor if tasks are being followed through with and completed, reevaluate what needs to be improved on. This tool will measure the effectiveness of my daily task/goal sheet and will assist in Nurse/CNA communication. A: attainable I will seek journal articles and websites to education myself with literature search using the EBSCO, CINAHL, and Goggle Scholar on effective conflict resolution and better daily communication. I will review joint commission and Magnet to assist my unit’s Magnet journey undertaking. R: relevant I currently work on the Acute Pediatrics floor doing bedside nursing. I am looking to become a Nurse educator either with hospital or another pediatric hospital. I will become more comfortable and competent in a leadership position by educating myself in delegation and daily communication. I will serve as a resource for newer nurses to the unit. T: time bound I will receive an over 50% compliance with the new daily task/goal sheet for nurse support team in the next 15 days and 100% compliance in 30 days. CO –
