Over the past decade, information, communication, industrial, and business sectors have involved extensive use of technology as most systems of operations are digitalized. At the advent of technology in major sectors, certain groups discarded the essence of change. Over time 80% of the sectors in economies or nations have adopted modern technological methods to ease activities and match their counterparts, given the global digitalization interests. The technology involves new methods of handling activities or operations that often reduce manual labor. In this case, the use of technology as a basic factor that fosters advancement in economies or businesses has created a global demand for digital systems. While technology is not required for personal or societal influence, the positives outweigh the negatives of using technology. There are concerns over the adverse influence of technology or the internet on human brains, especially in impairing memory and concentration. Over time, subtle changes in the internet users’ way of thinking are accredited to ease of accessing information, which hinders creativity ( Carr 1). When data is easily shared through the internet and digital devices, there is no room for insightful thoughts among individuals. Also, contemplation of information received by persons from the internet is limited as there exists the notion that every piece of data retrieved

This change in processing data is caused by the unease of focusing the mind on particular activities as individuals are aware of the ready responses, which can be found on the internet. Often, individuals who constantly use the internet have reduced capacity for concentration on demanding activities, such as reading books. According to Carr, questions are raised on whether google has made individuals stupid as critical and creative thinking diminishes in internet users over time. Retention of information from books or circles among frequent internet users is a major concern that demands attention. Most individuals who previously read volumes of books are unable to complete similar tasks after they become frequent internet users (1). Moreover, the use of digital devices and services has resulted in adverse behavior patterns in the personal and social circles of people. Although technology results in the improvement of methods of production, distribution, and consumption, the overuse of digital devices leads to addiction ( Turel 1). In this case, individuals develop addictive behavior when using technology devices, thus consuming much of their time in public and private. Through the overuse of videogames, social media, or interactive platforms, individuals suffer from overdependence on these resources in similar ways as drugs.
