An assessment of whether the client is mastering the stage of identity Brady is a 15-year-old Caucasian male that is attending his second assessment. Steve, Brady’s father is concerned about Brady’s behaviors. Brady’s mother, Diane, expired three years ago. Steve believes that Diane’s passing is affecting Brady’s behavior. “Brady is now fearful of his father, which is giving him feeling love self-esteem, and he presents to be immature, and have a low intelligence level, which is making school, not a priority in his life” (Plummer 2014) Erik Erikson’s stages of psychological development present Brady at his age level, which is Identity vs. Role Confusion stage. This stage occurs during the adolescent years, ages 12-18 years. “Within this stage is where the teenager finds a feeling of personal identity, which impacts behavior and development throughout the rest of his life.” (Sprout 2017).
