The influence of leadership among all health counterparts have been associated with improved outcomes in the healthcare system. Generally, every nurse is obligated to influence colleagues in attaining quality outcomes hence acting like a leader despite not being in formal leadership role. According to Whitney (2018), all nurses are leaders and should embrace leadership approach in efforts to deliver quality services. In addition to delivery of quality patient care, nurses are obligated to advocate for their patients. This can be achieved through several critical ways. Among them include acting like educators, communicators, interpreters, and caregivers. As leaders, nurses should embrace various advocacy strategies that will create a positive change in the workplace. Nurses should help patients in making informed decisions. Assisting patients to make right and effective decisions, emerges as a basic way in which nurses can advocate for their patients.
