Across generations, guest behavior has been affected by the evolution of value proposition within the hotel industry. A value proposition is an innovation, service, or feature intended to make a company or product attractive to customers. It is basically how explaining how your services or products will benefit the customers. In the hotel industry, there are so manycompetitors because they are all offering similar services which are to provide lodging and other fascinating amenities. Not all the services offered are the same, so many hotels have to capitalizeoff of what makes them stand out from the others. In this essay, I will take a look at how the value proposition has developed to transform guest behavior across generations. While reading the article assigned within this unit, the generations in which researchers have seen are the baby boomers, Generation Xers, and millennial. According to The Economist(2016), “The biggest problem for the hotel industry is a demographic one.” What this means is that majority of the satisfaction that customers present came from guests who were members of ahotel’s perks program. The article mentioned that as one generation succeeds the other, the numbers decrease in memberships. The numbers that support this theory are 66% of hotels’ baby
