Travona Strong06/24/20Clinical Field Experience A;Observation and InterviewObservation- Mrs Matthews, teaches 7th grade math. Her literacy strategies used involved many aspects of positive reinforcement, brainstorming and discussion Engaging students in a spirited discussion to enhance comprehension. Her class was energetic and very talkative. She had great dialogue while going over the lesson asking many questions and even playing a game at the end to gauge understanding. She explained to me that because of the nature of the class energy she has to have ongoing interactive activities so that the children do not lose interest and fail to retain information conveyed. For literacy approach the procedures and objective were outlined on the teacher’s wall. She also included literacy from color coded cheat sheet posters, in bright colors to show examples of math equations and what rules to follow to solve for problems. She asked the students to look around the room for clues to answers questions. She had key words outlined to help them remember steps to solving certain math
