Comment on the following aspects of the case study 2: a)What are some of the challenges facing supervisors? Supervisors have several challenging, they have to be both leaders and managers at the same time, they supervise both part time employees and full time, each employee will do small portion of the work and handover to next employee, so they have a difficulty to know the work progress and status, who did what and when, not proper communication which lead to loss of information and difficulty in tracking project status.Supervisors have to deal with technical conflict issues, delayed permissions, which cause to delay activities, schedule changes and internal conflicts between staff members, they need to mediate these conflicts and make sure staff productivity is still high.b)What skills do you think the supervisors need to be effective project managers? Why do they need these skills? As a project managers they have to work with all individuals in the team and manage them which require below skills:1.Leadership skills: Required to motivate the team, inspire them so they could be able to deliver.2.Communication skills: they need to work with various behaviors from employees, they need to understand their needs communicate requirements in a proper way especially during the conflicts. 3.Team management skills: Coordinate groups and individuals by promoting team work, setting goals, resolving conflicts, assign tasks, and evaluate performance.4.Scheduling skills: planning activities and prioritize the work to achieve the task in the required time.5.Risk Management skills: predict problems before arising, having contingency plans for tasks with risks.c)Are there skills that team members need to be effective team members in a project? If so, what are these skills? Team members must have some essential skills to have high performance and be effective in the project.
