Cossaboom 1 Parker Cossaboom Gehr 3/23/06 ENGL 102 Birdboot Uncovered The play “The Real Inspector Hound” is an interesting commentary on how people use their power and what others will do to get it. The play begins with two critics sitting in the audience discussing as to what the play is about and about their lives. This is where we are introduced to Birdboot, one of the most prominent play critics around. He and another critic, Moon, talk throughout the play and while they are talking the reader is able to see a reflection of the critics in certain characters in the play. Through the conversation that Moon and Birdboot hold the reader is able to observe the relationship of close social company they keep with each other. The play starts with Birdboot telling Moon about a new actress that shows a lot of potential whom he knows. Moon guesses the real truth to Birdboot’s relationship to the woman, but as soon as he says something that alludes to that Birdboot becomes angry: “BIRDBOOT. I’ll give you a tip then. Watch the girl. MOON. You think she did it?
