1/31/2008 Chapter 1 sections 1-3 - Main idea behind being a doctor : strengthen their whole profession the consciousness that their calling is holy and that they too, are disciples of the saving Christ. May they never through the pressure of need or ambition surrender the sense of a divine mission and becoming hirelings who serve only for money. (pg 5) - Health : means the capability, vigour and freedom. It is the strength for human life; it is the integration of the organs for the exercise of psycho-physical functions. (pg 7) - Man is made up of two parts, a body and soul. He is the soul of his body, the rational soul of his vegetative and animal body, the ruling soul of his serving body. Health and sickness are not two different realms; together they are a single whole. (pg 8) - In all stages of history the main question that we must ask ourselves is: “Wilt though be made whole?” - Hygiene is the foundation against illness, as it is also the main basis of therapy where illness has already commenced. (pg 9)
