What is the size of the industry? What is the size of the company? Boeing is a publicly traded company specializing in aerospace and defense. It is the world's largest aerospace company , and is also the #2 maker of large commercial jets (having fallen behind rival Airbus ) and the #2 defense contractor behind Lockheed Martin . It operates through six segments: Commercial Airplanes, Aircraft and Weapon Systems, Network Systems, Support Systems, Launch and Orbital Systems, and Boeing Capital Corporation. The company is headquartered in Chicago, IL and was founded in 1916. They currently employ over 153,000 employees. They had 2005 Total Revenue of roughly $54,845,000,000, a Net Income of $2,572,000,000, a Total Debt of $10,727,000,000 and all assets are worth $60,058,000,000. Boeing is publicly traded for $77.79 at the moment, its previous close was $78.01 and its 52 week high and low is $79.50-$56.22 giving it an enterprise value of roughly $67.2 billion.
