1) 2) 3) 4) The challenge in studying implicit memory is rather obvious, how does one begin to measure and study something that is “hidden” or “unconscious”? What methods have been used to uncover the mysteries of implicit memory? Word-fragment completion has been probably the most widely used method to help research implicit memory. Within the parameters of this method, many things are possible. One can study priming, for instance. Many amnesia patients have been used to study implicit memory. A researcher can compare various responses to questions demanding implicit or explicit information from amnesia patients that have lost either their implicit or explicit memories. 5) Mnemonics are the products of conscious decisions to organize and chunk information into larger and more meaningful units for the purpose of remembering it better. How have mnemonics been used? Give two real life examples. Mnemonics have been used for both good and evil.
