Paul Burkhart The Lad y with the Little Do g by Anton Chekhov *** Before I start, I just want to say: Gretchen, thank you. I absolutely adore this story, I think I like it as much as you. I admit – I cried. It was so beautiful and real and pure. It was incredible. I love Checkov! I love the Lad y with the Little Do g (just not as much as Dmitri does, I think)! Plot – Exposition: We get our first little limited description of Anna, and we get our big chunk of who Dmitri is. We are told about his wife, his past transgressions, and his views on women as a whole. Rising Action: When the two start talking and then start their affair. Anna leaves and then Dmitri does as well. He decides to go to S. to find Anna. Finds her at the theatre. She starts coming to Moscow to continue the affair. Turning Point: When Dmitri looks into the mirror and realizes he has fallen in love for the first time in his life. Falling Action: They try and discuss how to fix their relationship so they can have a real life together. They resign themselves to a life together, no matter
