Keri Suggs Group 14 Chapter 5 Study Focus Study Focus 1. Define natural selection and evolutionary psychology. Compare and contrast? Natural selection is the evolutionary process by which nature selects traits that best enable organisms to survive and reproduce in particular environmental niches and evolutionary psychology is the study of the evolution of behavior using principles of natural selection. Both deal with evolution, however natural selection deals with the evolutionary process as nature selects the “best” and evolutionary psychology deals with the study of evolution using natural selection. 2. Explain culture diversity. Culture diversity allows us to see the difference in cultures through language, customs, and behaviors. These differences stem from the way our genes are expressed based on our environmental influences. 3. How do culture norms vary among cultures? Culture norms vary through what a society in a specific culture considers to fit the norm.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
