Thank you for sharing your personality results with the group. Based on your high scores of agreeableness and conscientiousness, I believe you would be a good fit for mediation's transformative style. Your friendliness and cooperative traits are essential to empower stakeholders to improve their skills so they can make better decisions and recognize each person's point of view. In addition, by being focused and methodical, you can have a more significant impact on the parties' interpersonal relationships with society as a whole, improving their lives and helping solve future conflicts. Transformative mediation has pros/cons compared to the other two styles that approach mediation for problem solving. In the pro's side, transformative mediation creates opportunities for moral growth, allows parties to empower and recognize others, set their goals, and direct the process. On the con's side, conflict can become a long-term process, and a settlement may not be possible (Spangler, 2013).
