Action Plan 2 Working in a School As I am someone currently in school to become a BCBA and work with children, there is a high possibility of me working in or with schools. It is important to understand how these institutions work and how collaboration looks with them as well. The chances that I will be working either directly with teachers or in conjunction with them, is very high when I am in my new position as a BCBA, which is why having an action plan to lay out each step of what that will look like is incredibly important. Before Before entering a school to work there are many things I will need to do in order to prepare. Depending on what kind of work I am doing with the school this will obviously look different. I could be hired to work for the district, I could be on an IEP team of a client I’m overseeing, or I could even be a Behavior Instructor. Whatever role I’ll be in, I will need to prepare myself. Having clear and concise goals will only help me in my way to becoming the best version of a BCBA that I can be. When I enter into an IEP meeting will I be the voice of reason attempting to gain life-changing accommodations for my client? Or will I be on the IEP team simply as a behavior expert?
